Program Description:

Mecklenburg County is currently conducting a property revaluation that will affect property taxes beginning January 1, 2023. Join Ken Joyner and Brad Folwer from the County Assessor’s Office and learn about the property revaluation process, possible impacts on property taxes, and how to appeal your 2023 assessed value if needed.

Speakers:

Ken Joyner joined Mecklenburg County as Assessor in 2013.  He also serves on the County's Budget Executive Team. Prior to joining the Mecklenburg County team, Ken spent six years as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, School of Government and previously served as the Tax Administrator in Chatham, Onslow, and Durham counties in North Carolina.

Brad Fowler joined Mecklenburg County as the Assistant Assessor in 2021. Prior to joining the Mecklenburg County team, Brad was the Tax Administrator for Catawba County. Previously he was the Assistant Assessor in Durham County and the Commercial Real Property Manager for Mecklenburg County.
