Kizzy V. Crawford Heath, B.S., M.A.Ed., J.D., DREI
Kizzy V. Crawford Heath has served as the Legal Education Officer for the NCREC since May 2018. Mrs. Heath is a distinguished graduate of the Honors Program at Elizabeth City State University, graduate of the University of Phoenix, and was conferred a law degree by North Carolina Central University School of Law. She was on the faculty at North Carolina Wesleyan Collegeand Wake Technical Community College where she taught Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Court Procedure and Evidence, Ethics, and Legal Environment. Mrs. Heath has also authored supplemental instructional resources for the education and publishing company, Pearson Education. Included among Mrs. Heath’s duties at the Commission are co-authoring the North Carolina Real Estate Manual, writing the Commission’s mandatory Update courses each license year, and assisting in developing other Education materials. In June of 2023, Mrs. Heath was bestowed the national 2023 Rising Star Award from the Real Estate Educators Association in Las Vegas, Nevada for her many contributions to real estate education.”

Leonard C. Elder, JD, DREI, GRI
Len is a licensed North Carolina attorney currently serving as the Education and Development Officer for the NCREC. As an instructor with over 40,000 hours of teaching experience, author of over 100 courses and speaker at a wide variety of national conferences, Len is a recognized expert in real estate instruction. He currently serves on the REEA DREI Leadership Council and is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including national instructor of the year and national course author of the year.

C. Grainger Pierce, Attorney at Law
Grainger Pierce was raised in eastern North Carolina, where he spent much of his free time roaming his grandparents’ farms. He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, where he studied art history, classics, and psychology. Following his graduation from law school at Chapel Hill, Grainger moved to Charlotte, where he developed a thriving employment law practice representing employers of all sizes. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Grainger was a partner at a prominent regional firm.
Grainger works with companies, municipalities, and schools on everything from complex litigation to internal investigations and compliance assessment. He has successfully represented clients in all North Carolina state and federal trial courts, as well as before the North Carolina Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Additionally, Grainger is a frequent speaker on employment law issues, and he has served as an instructor for the Duke University and University of North Carolina – Charlotte paralegal programs.
